Jen Daro
Assistant Coach

Jen Daro enters her second season with the Maverick softball program as an assistant coach. She joined the staff in September 2021.

With her help, the Mavericks posted one of their best Division I seasons in the books. Omaha finished the year 32-14 overall. It was the most wins in a season since 2014 and just the third time the team eclipsed the 30-win mark in DI history. Omaha finished 17-4 in league play. The 17 wins was a DI record and the most league wins since 2011 when the Mavericks tallied 18.

Omaha made its second straight appearance in the Summit League Tournament and championship game. With the No. 2 seed, Omaha earned a first round bye and eventually took on the Jackrabbits for the title. The Mavericks forced a winner-take-all game after beating South Dakota State 3-0 in game one. The run came to an end with a 5-0 loss in game two.

Daro joins the Mavericks following a three-year stint as an assistant coach with Pitt State. With the Gorillas, Daro helped the program to a 52-73 overall record. Over the three seasons, she helped eight players to All-MAIA honors and one player to All-Region recognition.

Prior to Pitt State, Daro served as a graduate assistant coach at St. Cloud State. The Huskies posted a 42-18 recorded during her tenure and qualified for the NCAA Division II Softball Tournament.

The Omaha native played collegiately at Creighton. While with the Bluejays, Daro helped the team to 94 wins over four seasons and 32 victories in the Big East.

In her career, Daro posted a .236 batting average and totaled 69 runs, 15 doubles, 21 homers, and 76 RBI.

Daro earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Creighton in May 2017. She then completed her master’s degree in higher education and leadership at St. Cloud State in May 2019.

Emma Raabe
Assistant Coach

Emma Raabe officially joined the Omaha Softball coaching staff in July 2023. Raabe will focus on coaching catchers and infield, while also assisting with hitting.

Raabe played four years at the University of Missouri from 2019-2022. Since Missouri, Emma has coached within the Nebraska Gold organization for 2 years.  She was also an assistant coach at Omaha Marian for the 2022 season helping coach them to a State Championship.  This is only Marian’s 2nd State Championship in softball.  Emma was a player on the first State Championship team.

During her senior season at Missouri, the first baseman recorded a fielding percentage of .989 with only 3 errors over 265 chances. At bat, Raabe posted a .216 batting average with 21 hits, seven of which were extra-bases. Notably, she recorded a home run in her singular plate appearance of the game against Ole Miss, and went 2-for-3 with a home run against the victory over then-No.9 Kentucky.

In her junior year, Raabe was the primary starter at first base with 55 starts in 56 appearances. She had a career year at the plate with 11 doubles, nine home runs and 33 RBI while batting .269 with 28 walks for an OBP of .400. Raabe had the go-ahead three-run home run in the seventh inning of the SEC Tournament semifinal vs. Florida. She also recorded the game-tying home run in win over Tennessee and a tape-measure home run vs. Arkansas.

Raabe was also successful off the field and in the classroom. She finished her time at Missouri with a degree in business management and a minor in marketing. She earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll during each of her four-years at Missouri. In 2021 she was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team.
